Who do you think should be TIME magazine's Person of the Year 2012?

TIME will choose the Person of the Year for 2012, but that doesn’t mean readers shouldn’t have their say. Cast your vote for the person you think most influenced the news this year for better or worse. Voting closes at 11:59 PM on December 12th and the winner will be announced on December 14. You can also view the Time Poll here.

Other fun election stuff

Puerto Rico could become our 51st state, yet nobody is talking about it.

Puerto Rico statehood

Image: Washington Post

On November 6th, besides the presidential election, the people of Puerto Rico are set to vote on something VERY important.

1. Whether they want to continue to be a territory of the United States.
2. To become a sovereign nation.
3. Become the 51st state.

This is sort of a big deal for our country yet I don’t think it’s even been reported on. It’s been 53 years since we added to the empire, I like many others are hoping for statehood.

What do you want to see happen?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Tim

Pizza shop owner bear hugs President Obama

Pizza shop owner bear hugs President Obama

Upon walking into the Big Apple Pizza & Pasta Restaurant in Ft. Pierce, Fla., Sunday afternoon, President Obama received an enthusiastic greeting by the shop’s owner who wrapped his arms around the president’s back for a bear hug and and lifted him him off the ground.

I was really bothered by this. Seriously, this is a President of the United States! Why would you think this is EVER okay? Dude is lucky the Secret Service didn’t absolutely massacre this guy.

Spotted at the DNC

"Once you vote black, you never go back" button on display at the DNC.

I get the joke, but it’s actually a distraction from the message Obama supporters need to be spreading right now.

This kind of open racism would have been blasted if an “elect whitey” message had been on display at the RNC. Just saying.
