Puerto Rico could become our 51st state, yet nobody is talking about it.

Puerto Rico statehood

Image: Washington Post

On November 6th, besides the presidential election, the people of Puerto Rico are set to vote on something VERY important.

1. Whether they want to continue to be a territory of the United States.
2. To become a sovereign nation.
3. Become the 51st state.

This is sort of a big deal for our country yet I don’t think it’s even been reported on. It’s been 53 years since we added to the empire, I like many others are hoping for statehood.

What do you want to see happen?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Tim

One response to “Puerto Rico could become our 51st state, yet nobody is talking about it.

  1. Puerto Ricans will finally reject the current colonial status and vote for sovereignty (Independence and Free-Association combined). Statehood will lose (again). Americans, do you really want a state that advocates keeping Spanish as its main official language; keeping its Olympic team; and hopes of getting more welfare and food stamps from Americans as the reason for statehood? Really? We need to end the colonial dependency of PR and help them towards the path of soveriegnty, development, and international recognition.
