This five-minute video shows a man, identified in a police report as Eric R. Hightower, 30, on his stomach on the sidewalk as an officer stands over him. Hightower yells that he didn’t do anything. At one point, he starts to cough and the officer appears to kick him near his neck. That officer has been identified as St. Paul PD Officer, Jesse Zilge.

Hightower had an order issued for his arrest because he made a threat about possibly injuring or killing someone he had a relationship with, Smith said.
The report lists the reasons for his arrest as felony assault, including terroristic threats, obstructing the legal process and criminal damage to property.
Hightower has not been charged, but Ramsey County attorney’s office spokesman Dennis Gerhardstein said that the office expects to issue charges Thursday.
Zilge’s personnel record was not immediately available. Smith said he didn’t know whether the officer had any disciplinary actions in his record and promised answers soon.
I think we need to hear why the officer kicked him, but it’s apparent there’s no good excuse for it. This kind of thing is begin captured on camera more and more and that is a good thing. The camera doesn’t lie, and protects both the public and the police.

Police are alerting the public in Minneapolis that military aircraft will be conducting “routine training” over the Twin Cities through Saturday, largely in the evenings. Residents may see or hear low-flying, military transport helicopters – specifically Black Hawks and smaller Hughes 500s, flying in the Minneapolis area between 7 p.m. and midnight.
I don’t know how you feel about this, but I don’t like it. I understand that urban training is something the military needs to practice. It’s not like wars only happen in the jungle or the desert, but the fact they are training in a real populated U.S. city makes my conspiracy brain run wild. If it’s happening in my city, it’s happening elsewhere too.
Anyone else kinda freaked out by this?

A Navy SEAL used the pseudonym Mark Owen to write an upcoming book on the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. The book is called “No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama bin Laden.” Pre-order here.
It gets released on Sept. 11th.
The SEAL, who Fox News surprisingly outed, is likely gonna face another tough mission – avoiding legal trouble. The Pentagon has not vetted the account or authorized the book.
Not completely sure how I feel about this. It feels kinda wrong for a SEAL to write a book and profit from the mission while the others who were with him that night gain nothing. They should have written it together or not at all.
Still, I will probably buy this book.

So I guess there is a place in the U.S. where full-body spandex suits are trendy. That place? South St. Paul, Minn.
Here is a recent report from the Woodbury, MN police blotter. Seems like this fashion is freaking people out. I don’t blame them. I saw two guys like this when I was walking to a parking ramp the other night after a Twins game. They made me uneasy and I kinda wanted to punch them.
