From NBC Chicago – Visitors who braved the Willis Tower’s Skydeck got quite a surprise when they stepped out onto The Ledge. They thought it was cracking under them, 103 stories above the ground. Turns out it was just the protective coating, but they didn’t know that at the time. How’s that for terrifying?

TMZ is reporting that Maya Angelou — one of America’s most famous poets — died last night in a Winston-Salem, North Carolina hospital while recovering from a mystery sickness.
The 86 year-old Angelou was recovering from an “unexpected ailment” that sent her to the hospital. She died with family by her side.
According to her agent, Helen Brann, she’d been very frail and had heart problems.
