A new app that gives you disposable phone numbers

Burner is a new iPhone app that will give you a disposable, short term cell phone number to give to randos at the bar, weirdos on Craigslist, and Marlos on the corner. It also makes life easier for contract killers, stalkers, and the KGB.

The app will become available in the Apple iTunes App Store Wednesday for $1.99 per download. Users start out with three credits, which gives them a single number for seven days of use or 20 minutes of talk time. Users can purchase additional credits or packages to extend the life of a number, or “burn” it at any time. Hope it hits Android soon.

An annual moment of silence by the people of Warsaw

Once a year on august 1st, the people of Warsaw pay hommage to the fallen heroes that fought for freedom in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. The biggest rebellion against German Nazi occupation during WWII cost over 200,000 lives and destruction of the capital.

This will give you chills.

A new video produced by the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security teaches us how to survive an office mass shooting. The 6-minute PSA, titled “RUN. HIDE. FIGHT. Surviving an Active Shooter Event,” features actors staging a workplace shooting, while a narrator offers tips to viewers.

Sad that this is even a thing we need to worry about these days. Watch it. Good stuff.
