Videos from the Mall of America melee

Yesterday a bunch of feral youth took to the MOA in Bloomington, MN to cause trouble. They succeeded. More than 200 young people started to brawl (for reasons not yet known) in a food court and quickly spread through the mall. Witnesses reported seeing some of these idiots pulling guns and some of the mob grabbed items from shoppers and kiosks.

The MOA of course is trying to downplay this incident in hopes of not worrying shoppers about mall safety. There are other reasons the Mall is being delicate with this story too, but I won’t get into that now.

I think that Mall is one of the worst things to happen to this state.

Here are some eyewitness videos of the melee posted to YouTube in the last 24 hours. Would you feel safe shopping there?

Jim Morrison ghost photo

A photograph taken in 1997 at the French cemetery where Doors frontman Jim Morrison is buried features a ghostly apparition that appears to be Morrison. Are you with us? We may lose you here: the photo has been deemed authentic, the U.K.’s Daily Express reports. The snapshot shows rock historian Brett Meisner standing next to Morrison’s grave at the Pere Lachaise cemetery, and in the background, there’s a white figure with its arms seemingly outstretched. Apparently, Morrison did break on through to the other side.

Pen Stuck in Woman’s Stomach for 25 Years

Doctors in the United Kingdom removed a pen from an unidentified woman’s stomach that had been there for more than 25 years. And yet, when we’re looking for one, they’re nowhere to be found.

Pen Stuck in Woman’s Stomach for 25 Years

Source: BMJ Case Evidence

The 76-year-old woman went to an emergency room for diarrhea and unexplained weight loss and a CT-scan found the strange cause, according to the British Medical Journal.

How did this poor woman swallow a pen? Apparently, she had used a pen to check a spot on her tonsils when the wily writing instrument slipped out of her hands and down her throat. She went to a doctor, but the X-ray didn’t locate the foreign object or believe her story. So it stayed there for more than two decades without causing any symptoms until now.

A recent X-ray of the woman’s stomach confirmed her original story. It should also be noted that the pen still writes. Remember that next time your at the gas station or bank. Where has this pen been?

Crash landing on the Hudson River

This animation is based on all currently available data concerning the US Airways Flight 1549 crash landing on the Hudson River (Cactus 1549). Satellite imagery, elevation models and robust GIS mapping methods are utilized to create a vegetation model, terrain model and ground clutter (3D buildings). Of all available audio tracks, only two are used, La Guardia Tower and New York TRACON Departure controller position. Radar data as well as the onboard Flight Data Recorder are utilized in constructing the flight path of the aircraft.

The pilot Sully Sullenbergerand first officer was Jeffrey B. Skiles have ice in their veins. You can hear it in the eerie audio communication between the cockpit and the control tower. They could have all been heading towards their death, but you wouldn’t have known it based on their composure.

I would have been crying like a Japanese girl at a 1987 Bon Jovi concert.

Jon Bon Jovi is not dead

Thank God! When I saw the Tweets yesterday proclaiming my childhood rock star idol had died, I nearly wept. I wondered who would play his benefit concert. I dusted off my “Slippery When Wet” cassette tape. I moved “Moonlight and Valentino” to the top of my Netflix queue. I prayed. Then in a flash, I learned it was all a hoax. The world was right again.
