Contessa gets OWNED on MSNBC

Recently, Contessa “educated” a conservative Representative that if Congress does not raise the debt raising, the country would be “reverting into a depression.” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he disagreed which prompted the MSNBC host to ask him if he had a degree in economics.

“Yes ma’am, I do. Highest honors,” Rep. Brooks responded.

Next time, do your pre-interview homework.

Canton OH Cop Goes Berserk on Gun Permit Holder

If someone has a conceal and carry permit, you must tell a police office right away if you are carrying a weapon upon any stop. But what happens when the police won’t let you talk and tons of time goes by before they even start to question you in relation to their stop? Watch and see.

You gotta’ watch this video – all of it. Listen to how this rogue cop threatens the permit holder.

Story:
On June 8, 2011 the following unfortunate arrest took place in Canton, OH. Notifying the policy when you have a firearm is required by Ohio Law, but when this individual with a thirty-day old license tries to do that he is repeatedly ordered to look away, shut up, or interrupted and “forced” to change what he is speaking about by the actions of an aggressive cop named Daniel Harless.

A two-man car dealing with three people put itself at risk when one officer started what appears to be an illegal search of the rear of the car without extracting or securing the driver – which would have given him an opportunity to notify.

What follows is horrific example of a police officer losing all self-control, threatening to beat the female, threatening to beat the driver and eventually saying he should have executed him “and wouldn’t have lost any sleep over it” that night.

A couple of thoughts I had:
1. The cops used terrible judgement in securing the car and passengers inside of it. They violated countless procedural issues taught to every police officer in training.
2. You NEVER search a car with passengers inside of it.
3. The passenger and his “friends” did appear to be up to no good. They were in a known area for prostitution, with a known prostitute, at night, while carrying a firearm. None of this is illegal per se, but it is very stupid.
4. As a permit holder, I believe it is your duty to use common sense on when and where you carry. This person’s actions that night nearly cost him his life.
5. What you are seeing with this angry police officer is fear. This cop’s reaction was a result of realizing that he screwed up and could have been shot if the driver was a bad person. This “close call” infuriated him, and he took it out on the permit holder.
6. Daniel Harless was WAY out of line and should be moved to desk duty, if not fired. This is the kind of stuff that gives police officers a bad name with the public and can create a climate of anger that can put other cops in danger.

UPDATE 7/22/2011: Canton Police announced Thursday that the officer was relieved of all duties in June following an internal investigation complaint filed in this matter. The local Canton Repository has done some additional investigatory work into the officers and an excellent analysis of the video / audio posted online.

6 songs interrogators might use to make you come unglued

interrogation music

Source: New Statesman

It’s no secret that torturing suspects and terrorists with music has become standard practice. Questionable lyrics, silly melodies, and really loud volume can make a man crazy when these tunes are played 4 bazillion times. Here are songs that have proven to assault the senses during FBI standoffs, Guantanamo Bay interrogations, and other situations where torture and intimidation was needed. I was surprised to see that Nickleback was not among them. Maybe that’s busted out for only the most dire circumstances. (via Mental Floss)

1. Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”– A majority of the songs used in Guantanamo Bay consisted of seemingly patriotic ditties like Springsteen’s most famous American anthem.
2. Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty” – The “20th hijacker” of the Sept. 11 attacks, got one of two wake-up calls during his stay in Guantanamo Bay: dripping water on his head or an earful of Aguilera’s sexually charged lyrics.
3. Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made for Walking” – In 1993, the FBI blasted this song through loudspeakers during the Waco standoff with cult leader David Koresh. They considered using Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart,” but were afraid the people inside may actually like it.
4. AC/DC’s “Shoot to Thrill” and “Hells Bells” – Hard Rock songs like these are a favorite tool of military to intimidate rebels and small armies in the mid-east and Somalia. Many of them have not heard this type of music, and like our grandparents, it frightens them.
5. Anything by Barry Manilow – The New Zealand town of Christchurch recently blasted the crooner’s tunes throughout their central mall district to drive away the local punks who had been littering the area with graffiti, drinking in public and doing drugs.
6. Barney the Dinosaur’s “I Love You” – If you have a child who was into this evil bastard dinosaur, then I don’t need to say anything more. You are already broken.

Could the Minnesota Twins go from worst to first like they did in 1991?

How can politicians and business leaders from around the world meet in secrecy at a Swiss resort this past weekend and it not be covered by the mainstream media? See leaked Bilderberg list.

Bruins fan allegedly stabbed in neck during riot

I am seriously considering not wearing a team jersey if I am watching a sporting event in a different city. With Bruins fans being stabbed in Vancouver and Giants fans being beaten in Los Angeles, I think I’ll dress a little more inconspicuously.

Bilderberg meeting this weekend

The Grand Hotel Kempinski in St. Moritz, location of the 2011 Bilderberg meeting. It has been closed down since April 10th and will reopen to the public on June 17th.

For those of you who don’t know, The Bilderberg Group, Bilderberg conference, or Bilderberg Club is an annual, unofficial, invitation-only conference of approximately 140 guests, most of whom are people of influence in the fields of politics, banking, business, the military and news media. The names of attendees are made available to the press, but the conferences are closed to the public and the media, and no press releases are issued.

Because of its exclusivity and privacy, the Bilderberg group is frequently accused by conspiracy theorists from both extremes of the political spectrum of being an all-powerful secret society fixing the fate of the world behind closed doors including orchestrating wars, world economies, and even manipulating presidential elections. Here is a current article regarding thoughts about the 2012 election.

Critics of Bilderberg conspiracy theories counter that it is nothing more than a policy discussion forum and social club which only serves as a means to brainstorm, reach consensus, and create social cohesion within the power elite of Western European and North American nations, to better promote Atlanticism and a neoliberal form of globalization.

If you want to learn more about this group, I would recommend reading “The True Story of the Bilderberg Group” by Daniel Estulin.

The annual meeting is taking place in St. Moritz, Switzerland on June 11, 2011.

Here is an alleged list of attendees for Saturday.

Marines tell Army to stand-down on camo

Marine Digital Camouflage Fabric

Marine Digital Camouflage Fabric

Apparently the Army is considering different camouflage patterns for a new set of uniforms for the troops. The older Universal Camouflage Pattern has been criticized as ineffective in the field. The MARPAT (Marine Pattern) shown in the picture is one design the Army is considering, but the Marine Corps are claiming the uniform is their property and that Marines should be distinguished from other soldiers. They don’t want the Army to steal their look.

I think the Marines have exercised a major lack of judgement here. Choosing what is effective in the field and saving lives trumps vanity and pride every time. Stop this nonsense, and pick the camo that’s right for ALL of our soldiers.

MI6: Operation Cupcake

British intelligence used cupcake recipes to ruin al-Qaida website

An Al-Qaeda online magazine had instructions on how to make lethal pipe bombs, as well as articles by Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahir has been hacked by British intelligence agency MI6. The agents involved replaced all the content with encrypted cupcake recipes instead. Pretty amusing. It may have been more prudent to simply monitor the chatter and traffic on the site to gather intelligence, but the operation is still funny. (via The Telegraph)
