Tommy Lee’s Drum Rollercoaster

Motley Crue fans who see them on tour this summer will get to see Tommy Lee’s latest drum rollercoaster innovation. Check it out below.

This type of thing is not new for Tommy. He has always worked hard to make the drummer stand out and look cool during a show. Here’s an example of what he did back in 1987.

If only he knew how ridiculous he sounds saying the F word.

The four chord formula to every pop song ever written

The four chord formula to every pop song ever written. Maybe this is why everything sounds the same these days. In C major they’d be C, G, Am and F. The comedy band shows us how they work with any pop song while playing in the key of E I think (E,B,C#,A).

The Superman Curse

George Reeves

Superman George Reeves - Circa 1951

Today in 1959, TV’s Superman, George Reeves, was found dead in an apparent suicide (gunshot wound). It started the urban legend known as the “Superman Curse.”

The Superman Curse refers to a superstition that is based on a series of misfortunes that have plagued creative people involved in adaptations of Superman in various media, particularly actors who have played the role of Superman on film and television.

The curse in a nutshell: If you play Superman, you will either die an untimely death or end up in the weakest position possible.

See a list of notable people who have fallen victim to the curse here.

Very strange even if you are not superstitious.

The first known all-African-American heavy metal band

This is a picture of the first known all-African-American heavy metal band. Black Death formed in the late 1970’s and hailed from Cleveland, OH where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located. Coincidence? I think not. Read about them here. Check out their music here on Amazon.

The dude standing middle in the back needs to work a bit on his metal face, but the rest of them pretty much blow my metal mind. (via 9GAG)

The Final Teen Spirit

“Smells Like Teen Spirit” has been mashed with “The Final Countdown.” This mashup brought me back to my teenage years and demonstrated to me that grunge and butt rock can co-exist. Both songs (iconic in their own right), blew me away when I first heard them. Hearing them together recreates that emotion in a way that makes me want to buy back my 1983 Camero and start smoking again.

This song may or may not give you goosebumps.

FEARnet ad on your doorstep

Papa John’s already did something like this, but who cares. Nothing in advertising is original, and this execution for FEARnet still works. The left shows what was placed on people’s doors. The right side is what people saw when they looked through their peep hole. Agency The Brooklyn Brothers, New York, USA.
