Check out the just-discovered band Kitties in Chains and their rocking new song “Cat in the Box.” The above video is really just a perfect cartoon parody of Alice in Chains‘ “Man in the Box,” created by Joey Siler with music by Chris Senter.
The original “Man in the Box” was included on Alice in Chains’ debut album Facelift, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Pulled as a single in 1991, the song reached No. 18 on Billboard’s Album Rock Tracks chart and earned a Grammy nomination in 1992. Staley died of an overdose in 2002. William DuVall took over lead vocals when Alice in Chains reformed in 2005.

The cuttlefish in the video — part of a seafood dish named odori-don — is actually no longer living. When the sodium in soy sauce is absorbed into the creature’s body, it triggers muscle spasms that appear to make the squid dance.
Incidentally, it makes humans like me fall from their chairs and vomit.
