Before you get fired up at McDonald’s and start sharing this with your friends and family, check your sources. This sign has been shopped and is a hoax. Internet pranksters rely on people like your gullible Mom or crazy uncle to spread this stuff.
Here is another example. It seems like every week on the Internet is Shark Week, with a steady stream of insane shark-attack stories or shark-sighting videos leading the viral news. But when this image made the rounds in June, people really went nuts. It was supposedly taken in a flooded shopping center in Kuwait where a shark tank had collapsed. Pretty scary, right? But of course, it was not real. The photo was legitimately of a flooded shopping center (in Toronto), but the sharks were added in for effect.

This dude looks like he has a lot of Crisco on hand.
Rock Island police arrested a man found naked and covered in cooking spray early Monday in the downtown area.
Officers responded to the call of a naked man at 3:27 a.m. who “had lathered himself up in Crisco. He was covered in grease, and was holding the can under his arm.”
Rock Island Deputy Chief of Police Jeff VenHuizen said the man, Chad William Forber, 41, of Blue Grass, had taken off his shorts because they were too big and would not stay on.
The slippery criminal told police he “was looking for a place to party.”
Who isn’t?
Surprise! When officers searched the man’s shorts, they seized a quantity of drugs they suspected were methamphetamine. Full story.

Just before noon a body was discovered in the Susquehanna River in the Williamsport area. The body was discovered floating face-up in the river just below a spill-dam, an area that has seen drownings before. Police and rescue stood buy waiting to retrieve the body when the man sat up. He was okay, just floating in the river on a hot summer’s day. Story here.
HOLY HELL! One of my nightmares has just occurred in real life. A woman in China complained of an itchy ear and was hoping doctors could treat her. When doctors took a look inside, they found a spider had crawled into her ear while she slept.
An X-ray photo of the woman’s ear was posted to Reddit by user Psycho0222 and is displayed below.

Burner is a new iPhone app that will give you a disposable, short term cell phone number to give to randos at the bar, weirdos on Craigslist, and Marlos on the corner. It also makes life easier for contract killers, stalkers, and the KGB.
The app will become available in the Apple iTunes App Store Wednesday for $1.99 per download. Users start out with three credits, which gives them a single number for seven days of use or 20 minutes of talk time. Users can purchase additional credits or packages to extend the life of a number, or “burn” it at any time. Hope it hits Android soon.
