Monday Music Rewind: Fury in the Slaughterhouse

Fury in the slaughterhouseFury in the Slaughterhouse was a German rock band founded in 1987 and broke up in 2008. In 1993, the band had its first international success with the hit Every Generation got its own Disease from the album Mono. This is one of the great lost songs from the 1990s. The haunting undertones and lyrics are still relevant today. You can buy the song and the album here.

Monday Music Rewind: Ginuwine – Pony

This morning on twitter, the trending topic was #throwbacksongs. Scrolling through, I noticed most of them were hip-hop. It reminded me of the hit “Pony” from Ginuwine. In case you are wondering, the song isn’t about a Pony. The song must have helped in the bedroom too. He has 8 children.

Pony was released as a single from his first LP, Ginuwine…The Bachelor, in 1996. Watch the video below. Buy the song here.

The band Far has a nice rock cover of this song too.

Jon Bon Jovi is not dead

Thank God! When I saw the Tweets yesterday proclaiming my childhood rock star idol had died, I nearly wept. I wondered who would play his benefit concert. I dusted off my “Slippery When Wet” cassette tape. I moved “Moonlight and Valentino” to the top of my Netflix queue. I prayed. Then in a flash, I learned it was all a hoax. The world was right again.

The Muppets – Buddy Rich vs Animal Drum Battle

Buddy Rich was regarded by most every jazz drummer as the worlds fastest drummer, & when you watch this video, his sticks are moving so fast, that you can hardly see them. Here in episode 522, Buddy and Animal have a drum battle. Animal wins.

When Christopher Cross sings “Sailing,” I get it…

I never realized that Chris looked like a starting left tackle for my high school football team. Do you think God has this song on his iPod?
