In Jesus name Boogedy, Boogedy, Boogedy!

This is the craziest pre-race invocation. EVER. I am not opposed to giving thanks to God for anything. Thank away folks; even if it is for GM performance technology and a “smoking hot wife.”

Twins sign paleontologist from South Dakota

Twins sign paleontologist from South Dakota

Despite no high school or college playing experience, the Twins were impressed with a 22 year-old paleontologist from South Dakota who tried out at a camp in Fort Myers, Fla. He signed for a $500 bonus and has begun his pro career with the Twins’ rookie league team in the Gulf Coast League as a pitcher.

He apparently has good speed (fastball clocked at 88-90 mph) and movement on his pitches.

John Krogstad high school didn’t have a team and he didn’t attend college. He has been working in paleontology until now digging up dinosaur fossils. So what about his old job? “The dinosaur bones are always going to be there,” said Krogstad.

Remember when Tyson bit off Holyfield’s ear?

On this day back in 1997, Mike Tyson bit a chunk off of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a boxing match. I remember watching this match on pay-per-view at a friends house. We were stoked for this match-up. Everyone was. The incident led to Tyson being disqualified. He was a punk for doing what he did, but I’d never say that to his face. The entire fight is on YouTube now if you want to watch it. Watching these two stare at each other before the match (about 4:30) is terrifying.

I didn’t know this until today, but the two boxers had a face-to-face meeting in 2009 on a live episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” They hugged it out.

So, how much would would someone have to pay you to step into the ring and fight Mike Tyson in his prime? This was a popular question raised among friends back in the day and my answer stands. I would do it for $2 million dollars and go down on a jab.

Receipt for the Bruins’ bar tab after winning the Stanley Cup

What?! No boneless buffalo bites? Here is the receipt for the Bruins’ bar tab after winning the Stanley Cup. The total is $156,679.74. Danielle was the server. If she was tipped the standard 20%, she walked with more than $31,000. I wonder if she had to share? Also, who’s the Sally who ordered the Amstel Light?  (via 22 Words)
