Gutter Garden

Want to grow a salad garden but have no room? Try gutters! Affix them to a fence and slope them for drainage.

Gutter Garden

Start out by buying gutter downspout extensions or re-purposing old gutters from a house and attaching them to a fence with screws or clips. Drill holes for drainage and hang at a slight angle.

Tupac performs at Coachella as a hologram

From Yahoo!: Tupac died in 1996, three years before the first Coachella festival took place, but that didn’t stop him–or at least his bizarrely lifelike 3D image–from joining Dr. Dre onstage during Dre’s much-hyped festival finale this year.

About halfway through Dre’s 70-minute set, what appeared to be an actual shirtless Tupac appeared onstage, greeted the crowd with “What up, Coachella?”–and then traded rhymes with Dre’s co-billed Coachella partner, the flesh-and-blood Snoop Dogg, on “Come With Me,” “Hail Mary,” and “Gangsta Party.” Concertgoers at first seemed confused–the audience momentarily grew abnormally silent–and that confusion only increased when Tupac suddenly vaporized and vanished from the stage as quickly as he had materialized. All eyes were on him, so to speak, and then, POOF–‘Pac was gone.

Watch the haunting video here. Warning: Video has swear words.

The implications of holograms becoming commonplace scares the piss out of me. Will we ever have to say goodbye?

Upscale camper design

From Tony House Blog: If a Moroccan tent and a trailer had a baby, and that baby went to charm school, it might look just like the Opera. The Opera is manufactured by the Netherlands-based Your Suite in Nature (YSIN) and was designed after the Sydney Opera House. Read more about the specs here.

The Opera is about 2,973 lbs. and is available in three color schemes. It’s being sold in Europe and Australia for approximately $36,152. If you are on a budget maybe these tents will do.

The world’s quietest place

There’s a room in Minnesota that’s so quiet it becomes unbearable after a short time. The longest that anyone has survived in the ‘anechoic chamber’ at Orfield Laboratories in South Minneapolis is just 45 minutes. It’s 99.99% sound absorbent, it’s the world’s quietest place, but stay there too long and you may start hallucinating.

When it’s quiet, ears will adapt. The quieter the room, the more things you hear. You’ll hear your heart beating, sometimes you can hear your lungs, hear your stomach gurgling loudly. In the anechoic chamber, you become the sound. (via The Presurfer)
