Revellers at a Chinese restaurant rang in the New Year with a booze-fuelled brawl that caused thousands of dollars in damage.

The brawl broke out on New Year’s Eve around 4 a.m. at the New Dynasty Restaurant in the downtown Chinatown district.

A Youtube video shows 50 black and Asian patrons smashing each other with chairs and beer bottles, leaving the restaurant’s carpets stained with blood. (NSFW language)

Most Hated Words of 2011

Every year, Michigan’s Lake Superior State University asks people which words and phrases have been so overused that they should be essentially banished from the English language. The school just released their list for words that should be banned from use this year.

Here’s the list. 

  • Amazing
  • Baby Bump
  • Shared Sacrifice
  • Occupy
  • Blowback
  • Man Cave
  • The New Normal
  • Pet Parent
  • Win the Future
  • Trickeration
  • Ginormous
  • Thank You in Advance
I would add “epic,” “fail,”  and “throw under the bus.” How about you? What phrases and words do you hate?

2012 radio changes for the Twin Cities

New changes to the Minnesota airwaves have recently been announced. Update your presets accordingly.
WLTE 102.9 Minneapolis102.9 is now a Country station. I guess Love 105 will have to provide the fix you need for the sappy stuff.

B-96.3 Hip-hop is now a new “adult” Top 40 station still playing some old cuts. Recent news says it will be less “teeny bopper” and host a bit more of a talk element.
Tony Fly and Perk from Channel 11 will be doing a morning show I guess.
