Disturbed – The Sound Of Silence

I’ve never been a huge Disturbed fan, but this song was well covered. Worth a downloadSimon & Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence is over half a century old now, but they managed to put a fresh spin on it.

Prince finally allows his cover of “Creep” to be posted online

In 2008 Prince covered Radiohead’s “Creep” at Coachella and according to everybody who was there, it totally ruled. However, he prevented every attempt for the performance to be posted online. FINALLY, his Purpleness has allowed it. Enjoy.

Mötley Crüe’s “Too Young to Fall in Love” like you’ve never heard before

Chelsea Lankes was born in Texas, but her sound is full-bodied Swedish synth-pop, by way of Los Angeles back alleys. On her new cover of Mötley Crüe’s “Too Young to Fall in Love,” the singer reinterprets the hair metal classic with electropop guitars, digitally altered background vocals, and a rebellious drumbeat.

Dexter intro theme done as a metal song

A fan of Dexter does a metal cover version of the theme music. It doesn’t seem like it’s a metal cover at first, but wait for it. Totally awesome.

Lennon & Maisy – Sunglasses At Night

The Stella sisters Lennon and Maisy, quite possibly the world’s coolest preteens, are shooting to viral fame. They offer up this harmonious cover of Corey Hart’s “Sunglasses At Night” as an apology for not being able to accept Michael Kors’ invitation to join him at Fashion Night Out.

I have always loved this song. Their cover is splendid.

My new favorite band – Bad Rabbits

These guys aren’t new, but they are new to me. Don’t you love it when you discover a new band you like?  They say they’ve been doing this about 10 years, and since 10 years is usually when bands break, or”making it big,” you’ll likely hear their name again.

Quick facts: From Boston, unsigned, cool logo, fresh sound. Webpage here.
