A hidden camera project by an anti-street harassment organization (there is an organization for everything nowadays isn’t there), called Hollaback! attempts to reveal an idea that women are constantly harassed on the street when they walk around in public. This particular experiment was conducted in NYC over 10 hours.

See for yourself. Do you think this woman is being harassed?

Most guys understand that women can sometimes experience vulgar or threatening behavior on the streets. That’s no joke. However, outside of the idiot that followed her for a few minutes in the video, I saw very few things I would even consider to be the definition of harassment. Most of these guys were just complimenting her. She obviously doesn’t have to acknowledge the unsolicited comments, but we have to be careful what we label as harassment.
