Top 10 Songs that used a Moog synthesizer

Bob Moog

Bob Moog

Love that the Google doodle today honors the what Bob Moog brought to music. He would have been 78 today. The Moog synthesizer (Pronounced “mohwg,” not “moo-g.”) has been in use for more than four decades’ worth of pop, rock and other music including film. It got me thinking about the best songs that feature Moog lines. Here are 10.

If you are looking for a Moog synthesizer for yourself, I was surprised to see such high-quality ones on Amazon. Click here to view (affiliate link).

Emerson, Lake and Palmer – Lucky Man (Buy MP3)

Pink Floyd – Welcome To The Machine (Buy MP3)

Heart – Magic Man (Buy MP3)

LIPPS INC. – Funky Town (Buy MP3)

The Who – Bargain (Buy MP3)

The Beastie Boys – Make Some Noise (Buy MP3)

Modern English – I Melt With You (Buy MP3)

Manfred Mann’s Earth Band – Blinded By The Light (Buy MP3)

Steve Winwood – While You See A Chance (Buy MP3)

Of course there was Martin Denny and Dick Hyman, but that music is pretty much unlistenable.

What other songs did I miss?
