Mankato police say two young girls stole a goat from a zoo, but got nabbed while walking their goat home late Saturday night. The girls, two sisters under the age of 10, snuck out of their house to enact the crime while still in their pajamas. They had been at a birthday party at the zoo earlier the same day when they came up with a plan to spring him from goat prison.
When the cops stopped and detained the two pajama-clad girls on the street, they told the officer the goat belonged to them and they were just taking the animal for a late-night walk. As the kid questioning continued, the girls kept stretching their tale.
The goat lives in their bedroom closet, they said. Mom bought it a couple weeks ago, but dad didn’t know about it. So they had to keep the goat thing quiet to keep dad from suspecting anything.
When cops brough them home, the story unraveled like just like it does on the show COPS. No one is completely sure how they got the goat out.
