Good news and bad news Minnesota Amazon Affiliate account holders. You are now welcome to have an Amazon Affiliate account again. Minnesota bloggers should all be rejoicing about this change. I was worried we’d never see this happen until the tax law Governor Mark Dayton pushed through was reversed or a Republican took office.
Now for the bad news. I contacted Affiliate support via chat today and was informed that old affiliate accounts will NOT be reopened due to “technical and legal” challenges. The Amazon rep told me that my old account would need to be deleted and that I would have to re-apply for a new one. You can still use your existing Amazon login and email for your new Affiliate account.
I had the Amazon rep delete my old one on the spot and I restarted linking old content from this blog. It is a tedious process, but there is no way around it. The rep said that they will be sending a notification to old affiliate account holders very soon.
