What happens when you shine laser pointers at police helicopters

Here is video from a police helicopter flying over Kitts Green, in Birmingham, England. The footage shows a group of idiots pointing a laser pointer at the cockpit during a party at a house’s backyard on the ground. You may not think this is a big deal, but these lasers can temporarily blind pilots of helicopters and planes. This is a major issue for pilots. Equipment on these choppers now allows them to locate you and zoom in with infrared cameras. The suspects here were convicted and sentenced to seven months in prison.
