I started this blog 10 years ago without a clue on how to do it. My first posts are amusing to look at now, all these years later. My motivation in the beginning was to scour the web and bring readers a collection of interesting finds, bizarre stories, funny videos and pictures that would make people feel a bit guilty for laughing. I think I did what I set out to do.
This blog has explored a lot of topics and recently expanded into a podcast with my good childhood friend, Frank Walsh. I have created 4,659 blog posts on Duck Duck Gray Duck that have been viewed and shared by millions across 40-plus countries. This one will be my last for awhile.
I have struggled to find time to keep up with the vast amount of content online and to package it in a way that is unique to all of you. Truthfully, there are so many blogs that do a much better job. The amount of time required to keep this site running up to the standards I impose on myself is not a luxury life is providing me right now. Basically, I am just tired. I need to reset. I want to spend time focusing on some other things that matter and put Duck Duck Gray Duck up on the shelf somewhere.
I would like to thank some of the very first followers of my blog who have stuck with it since the beginning, the more recent evangelists of the podcast and, of course, my beautiful wife for putting up with all the “blog” talk and countless hours I spent on the computer posting away.
If you are a follower of this blog and/or podcast, I hope that you stay connected with the site and social media pages. Although it feels like the end, I never say never. Until we quack again…
