Junior Seau’s death spark suspicions of team curse

Junior seau

With the news of Junior Seau killing himself yesterday, the number of Chargers who played in the 1995 Super Bowl, and are now dead, is eight. What the hell? Is there some kind of curse?

  • Linebacker David Griggs died in 1995 after his car slid off an expressway and hit a large sign pole. He was 28 years old at the time.
  • Running back Rodney Culver died in a plane crash on May 11, 1996. The crash of ValuJet Flight 592 killed all 110 people aboard, including Culver’s wife.
  • Linebacker Doug Miller died in 1998 as the result of a lightning strike at the age of 28.
  • Center Curtis Whitley died on May 11, 2008 as the result of an overdose and was found in his trailer home in West Texas.
  • Defensive end Chris Mims died of an enlarged heart on Oct. 15, 2008.
  • Defensive tackle Shawn Lee died from cardiac arrest on Feb. 26, 2011.
  • Former Chargers linebacker Lew Bush died of a heart attack on Dec. 8, 2011.

Bradying is catching on

Bradying is a photo fad (like planking or Tebowing) that involves taking pictures of oneself sitting on the floor with the head lowered and hands clasped between the legs. The pose was inspired by a photograph of NFL player Tom Brady on the football field following his team’s loss against the New York Giants at the Super Bowl XLVI. (via)

Pittsburgh mayor forced to “Tebow” for the camera

From CNN

Pittsburgh’s mayor knelt down in defeat on Tuesday, donning a Denver Broncos No. 15 jersey and “Tebowing” in front of the Steel City’s skyline to pay off a bet he made with the mayor of Denver over the Steelers-Broncos playoff game….

“This is not something I ever thought I’d have to do, and it certainly wasn’t something I was looking forward to,” Ravenstahl said. “However, we’re good sports here in Pittsburgh, and I want to congratulate Denver on a great win.”

And a great win it was…

Pull a Randy Moss

Randy Moss announced his retirement today. Moss’ 153 TD catches are tied for the most among current players with Terrell Owens. With his retirement comes the end of an unforgettable era in Minnesota Vikings football.

The two most prolific offenses in NFL history had one thing in common…Randy Moss. This song and footage sums it up quite well.

Straight cash homie.

How long before he unretires?
